Course Catalogue
I would like to mention some great accomplishments that have happened since my tenure as chair last summer. First, Dr. Bridget Konter earned a National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER grant, a very prestigious award worth over $500K. Dr. David Borrok and a team from our Department won a $500K instrument grant from NSF, which will bring state-of-the-art geological analysis equipment to the El Paso region. Dr. Kate Miller won a $500K NSF grant to study the Big Horn Mountains. Congratulations to all!
Spring 2009 Department Highlights:
Our
Spring Colloquium
was held March 5-7. This event highlighted our student research and we welcome everyone from UTEP and our local community to participate
We expect to hire several postdoctoral researchers, who will strengthen our science and our graduate program. More details as they come.
We are currently searching for a petroleum geoscientist, and we expect lectures from candidates in March. We will keep you posted.
Finally, we will be graduating many students in Geology this May, and we wish them success in their future professions.
If you have any further questions about our department that are not answered through our webpages, please contact our office and we can connect you to the right person or place.
