BEEMS 17th Annual Conference
|
Dear Colleagues and Friends;
On behalf of the BEEMS Advisory Council, we cordially invite you to attend the 17th Annual BEEMS Conference at the Undergraduate Learning Center/UTEP, in El Paso, Texas, March 26-27, 2010. You will have the wonderful opportunity to network with teachers, school administrators, school board members, parents and students from the El Paso/Cd. Juárez area, Texas, across the nation and Latin America.
The conference program is highlighted with major sessions and featured speakers such as the renowned Virginia Collier, Wayne Thomas, Alma Flor Ada, Isabel Campoy, Jose Ruiz-Escalante and Gilberto Soto.

This year’s BEEMS 2010 program highlights include the following:
- Opening Ceremonies! Enjoy our opening ceremonies from community leaders and a warm reception with Mariachi music and food.
- Pre-Conference Institute for Administrators! This half-day institute will deal with administrator’s role and the latest legislation rulings concerning education. ( March 26)
- Pre-Conference School Visits! Visit one of our featured schools with outstanding Dual Language Programs and Micro Society Concept. (March 26)
- Gifted & Talented Training! Receive 6 hour credited G.T. training on Identifying Nature and Need.
- Parent Institute! Parents will participate in an all day training program to help, inform and enable parents to be more active in their children’s education.
- Concurrent Presentations! There will be over 50 sessions presented by educators and researchers throughout the nation focusing on the best educational practices and issues concerning
Bilingual Education and Dual Language Programs!
- Saturday Luncheon! Participants will enjoy the Saturday Luncheon with student performances from area schools.
