| The Department of Chemistry at the University of Texas at El Paso offers an American Chemical Society certified Bachelors of Science (B.S.) degree as well as a Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) degree in chemistry. These degrees offer an entry into chemical research in an industrial (agriculture, petroleum, pharmaceuticals, plastics, etc…), academic or national laboratory setting. In addition chemistry is a natural entry into environmental, forensics, health (clinical, dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, veterinary, etc…) and materials science studies. The Department also offers a Masters of Science (M.S.) and a Doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry, and is a major participant in the Environmental and Materials Sciences and Engineering Doctoral, the Bioinformatics Masters of Science, and the Masters of Art in Teaching programs.
