UTEP Choirs

CHORAL ENSEMBLES AT UTEP provide opportunities for all students on campus to participate in outstanding vocal organizations. Interested singers can choose from non-auditioned and auditioned choirs, each providing numerous performance experiences on and off campus throughout the academic year.

CONCERT CHORALE

Dr. Elisa Fraser Wilson, director

The Concert Chorale is a select mixed-voice choral ensemble of about 32 singers, most of whom are music majors with good sight-reading skills and some vocal training. Singing music of all styles, this group pursues an advanced degree of performance quality, appearing regularly on campus and in the Southwest region. Past highlights for the Chorale include a performance at the Colorado Music Educators Association state convention, tours of Mexico and the Southwest, and frequent appearances with El Paso Opera and the El Paso Symphony. Service awards are available on a competitive basis for participation in the Concert Chorale.

MEN’S AND WOMEN’S GLEE CLUBS

Brian Downen and Elisa Fraser Wilson, director

The Men’s and Women’s Glee Clubs consist of nearly 100 enthusiastic men and women of many academic disciplines who love to sing music of all historical periods and musical genres. Regularly appearing separately in concerts in UTEP’s Fox Fine Arts Recital Hall, including our popular Holiday Revels concert series, the groups come together annually with alumni and community singers to perform masterworks with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra . No audition is required for the Glee Clubs, and all interested UTEP students are encouraged to sing with these ensembles.
