| The Criminal Justice Program at the University of Texas at El Paso offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Criminal Justice. The Program provides students with an understanding of criminal behavior and its relationship to society, the nature of law and social control, the organization and management of criminal justice agencies (including law enforcement , courts, and corrections), and the use of evaluation research in the Criminal Justice field. The program offers courses in many areas of criminal justice and on many specialized topics. Criminal Justice is one of the largest majors at UTEP. Students majoring in criminal justice make up a very diverse group and many are currently employed in the criminal justice system. Among UTEP Criminal Justice students responding to a recent survey, 11% intend to work in a non-federal law-enforcement agency, 24% in a federal agency, 21% intend to attend graduate school or law school, and 44% were undecided about their career plans.
