Welcome to the Department of Criminal Justice
The Department of Criminal Justice at the University of Texas El Paso is in the process of exciting changes and growth to meet the needs of Criminal Justice students as well as the variety of agencies in our unique border location. These changes will include development of new on-campus and on-line courses, hiring of additional full time faculty, and development of a Master of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.
The orientation of the Criminal Justice courses is on the academics of the field. Our purpose is to help develop student skills through theory, critical thinking, research findings examination, and writing in order to better understand and perform in a criminal justice career. We are expanding our contacts with the many criminal justice agencies in the surrounding venues to provide productive opportunities for interns to gain practical experience through working at an agency.
We welcome your interests in the field of Criminal Justice.
