Dr. Mourat Tchoshanov and Dr. Reynaldo Reyes from the College of Education have been selected as recipients of the 2010 UT Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award. COE Student Selected for NASA Institute - Thursday, May 20, 2010

Ana Moctezuma has been selected to attend the NASA Johnson Space Center Pre-Service Teacher Institute to be held in July of 2010. Ana graduated this spring with a Bachelor’s degree of Interdisciplinary Studies with an EC-4 Bilingual Generalist Concentration and will represent the College of Education at this prestigious event.

The Pre-Service Teacher Institute is a two-week summer residential session for Early Childhood and Elementary Education majors preparing to teach in an elementary or middle school classroom. College students from diverse backgrounds will spend a dynamic and exciting time at NASA/Johnson Space Center where they are exposed to aerospace, mathematics and science enrichment activities. Pre-service teachers are able to interface with NASA personnel, and tour Johnson Space Center facilities while learning to incorporate NASA's cutting-edge research into lesson plans for elementary and intermediate school students.

Teachers Visit From Chihuahua, Mexico - Monday, May 03, 2010
Elementary schools in the Canutillo Independent School District were host recently to 45 visiting teachers from Chihuahua, Mexico as part of the Science Across Borders for Educators in Mexico to promote Outstanding Schools (SABEMOS) project, a joint bi-national collaborative between the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and the Instituto Tecnologico y Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).Read more...
