ElPaso History Day
El Paso HistoryDay is an annual event sponsored by the Department of History and the Collegeof Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at El Paso. It serves as the regional qualifying contestfor Texas History Day in Austin, which in turn sends its winners to NationalHistory Day in Washington D.C. HistoryDay is an educational program devoted to improving the teaching and learning ofhistory in American middle schools and high schools. It is designed to provide an intellectuallychallenging and exciting process whereby students can study historical ideas,issues, people, and events by engaging in project based learning and research.

The fifteenthannual El Paso History Day will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012, on the UTEP campus.The theme for the 2012 contest is “Revolution,Reaction, Reform in History.” In 2011 there were a record number of 182entries from 352 students.
