The University of Texas at El Paso offers both B.A. and M.A. degrees in philosophy. We are committed to educating our students in critical thinking and the history of philosophy while also offering a diversity of approaches to philosophy.

The research interests of our faculty range widely from core areas in ethics, metaphysics, and epistemology to philosophy of science, phenomenology, and critical social theory.

Ethics and philosophy of science, broadly conceived, provide a framework for cooperative work by faculty within the department and with other departments and Colleges across the University.
