UTEP DINNER THEATRE At THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT EL PASO Presents

The UTEP Dinner Theatre is proud to present our 3rd production of the musical METROPOLIS, based on the 1927 silent film by Fritz Lang. The year is 2066 and the inhabitants of the world are divided into two classes: an elite “ruling” class living in luxury on the planet’s surface and the working class, who toil below ground, doomed to serve from birth to death as slaves to the monstrous machines they tend. The score for METROPOLIS is by Joseph Brooks, Academy Award winning composer of “You Light Up My Life,” and contains some of the most beautiful ballads heard on stage in years. TIME Magazine calls METROPOLIS “a rousing and at times spell-binding musical!”.
