Mr. Carlos Callejo

   Muralist and painter Carlos Callejo is a native El Pasoan.  He is currently an Artist-in-Residence in the Chicano Studies Program at the University of Texas at El Paso. He spent his formative years in Los Angeles, where he studies graphic arts at the California State University and the Ottis Art Institute.  His return to El Paso quickly impacted the regional art scene.  Callejo has completed, often in collaboration with student, several public art projects that enhance the City of El Paso's aesthetic profile.  He is the recipient of public acclaim and recognition for this artwork and community service.  His works are regularly exhibited in major galleries in the nation, where he also lectures and imparts seminars on public and Chicano art.
