Online Orientation for Faculty at UTEP

To assist faculty, who may not have taught online, there is an Online Faculty Orientation resource available.

Important Information for Faculty about Online Courses

All UTEP courses offered online must meet the Principles of Good Practices as outlined by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. This form must be filled out, signed and submitted to the Office of Instructional Support Services prior to the start of the semester.

Since UTEP's investment in online courses is in service of our non-traditional students, we need courses to be offered on a regular basis to help us increase the number of students graduating from UTEP. To ensure this, all courses are developed under a joint copyright agreement. The agreement essentially establishes joint ownership of the course and gives the author rights to take the course content if they leave UTEP and conversely gives UTEP the right to use the course content to continue offering the course as needed.

The copyright agreement must be signed and returned to the Office of Instructional Support Services before the start of the course.
