Dr. Frank G. Pérez is Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Communication and Research Fellow at the Sam Donaldson Center for Communication Studies. He is also the founder and Co-Director of the American, African, and European Summer Program. Dr. Pérez is the Lead Instructor for the Latin American section of the UTEP/Rare Master of Arts Program. He also teaches in the Master of Leadership Studies program at UTEP’s University College. His areas of research includes: Intercultural communication, health communication, and Chicano Studies. Dr. Pérez earned his Ph.D. at the University of New Mexico.
Dr. Pérez’s research has appeared (solo and co-authored) in Aztlán, Communication for Development and Social Change, Western Journal of Communication, Communication Yearbook, Noesis, Public Relations Quarterly, and other scholarly outlets. He is currently writing a book on communicating the fantasy heritage of Juan de Oñate in Southwest tourism.
