Ceramics

The Ceramics area at UTEP is a dynamic program for student research. Traditional and contemporary approaches to this plastic medium are introduced at all levels of instruction. Ceramics students at UTEP study material, process, and conceptual concerns within both utilitarian and sculptural parameters. The curriculum stresses strong craft skills, a thorough historical appreciation of the medium, and the engagement with contemporary art practices and theory. This discipline is supported by one of the most outstanding facilities in the Southwestern United States.
