Through the Math-Science Partnership (MSP), the Physics department participates in a new master's degree in teaching science. Teacher-scholars selected for the program receive a $2000 per year stipend, attend classes designed specifically for working teachers, evenings and/or weekends during the school year and summer classes during summer break. The Master of Art in Teaching with a major in science (MAT) began it's first cohort of teacher-scholars (science) will focus on physics and chemistry.

The Physics Department participates in the NSF funded program Partnership for Enchancing Teacher Education (PETE) which is a collaboration between the College of Science and the College of Education. The aim of this program is to refine science education techniques as well to provide pre-service experience for our education majors.
