First time borrowers including first time Grad PLUS borrowers must attend an in-person preloan counseling session at UTEP before your loan application can be processed. Loan sessions last approximately 1 1/2 hours. Out-of-town applicants should contact the Office of Student Financial Aid office.

If you have borrowed a Stafford loan before at UTEP you may process a loan by following these instructions(LBW instructions.doc) on or after July 17th.
    

Federal regulations require all Stafford Loan borrowers who have dropped below minimum enrollment requirements to attend an exit loan-counseling session. For your convenience, this program is provided online. If you can't participate online, please call (915)747-7386 or visit the Office of Student Financial Aid to schedule a personal exit counseling session. Failure to complete your exit counseling will result in a hold on your transcript and other educational records.
