Qualifying Exam Information

REGISTER FOR QUALIFYING EXAM

Reserve a seat online through testing,(http://testing.utep.edu) in person at the Student Assessment & Testing Office (located in the Academic Advising Center Bldg, Suite 127) or call the TEST RESERVATION line at (915) 747-5009. 

Refer to the test schedule for dates and times.

*** Make sure and print out the Registration Test Ticket after you have registered for Qualifying exam. This piece of paper is your conformation notice validating your registration of the exam. Students who do not present a confirmation test ticket on the day of the Qualifying exam will not be admitted into testing.  All students taking an exam should present a Registration Test Ticket.  

Registration Test Ticket can be printed out from the website testing.utep.edu by clicking on “Printable Registered Test Ticket” after login.  

You may only register for one test session at a time.

Registration for CONTENT or PPR qualifying exams AFTER  MARCH 1, 2009 will ONLY be available 2 business days prior to the exam date.

FOR EXAMPLE:  Test date March 7, 2009.  Registration begins on
March 5, 2009 @ 7:00 am.

 

 

ON THE DAY OF THE TEST

 

Report to the Student Assessment & Testing Office, Suite 127, in the Academic Advising Center Building. 

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you may not be admitted.

You will be required to show one current photo identification from the list below, registration test ticket confirmation, and proof of having completed six hours of mandatory review sessions in order to take the exam.

 

ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION

·   U.S. Driver’s License

·   UTEP ID (Only valid for competency exam).

·   Passport

·   U.S. Department of Public Safety Identification Card

·   U.S. Military Identification Card

·   U.S. Alien Registration Card

 

NO OTHER FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION WILL BE ACCEPTED

 

The College of Education will grade the exams, email the results, and clear students to register for the State exams. Office of Student Assessment and Testing will be in charge of registration and administration of the Qualifying Exam.

DO NOT REGISTER UNLESS YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING AND MEET ALL EXAM REQUIREMENTS.

Procedures

Qualifying Exam Results:

If you take your test on a Wednesday your results will be emailed to you by the following Monday at 5pm.

If you take your test on a Thursday your results will be emailed to you by the following Tuesday at 5pm.

If you take your test on a Friday or Saturday your results will be emailed to you by the following Wednesday at 5 pm.
