Minor in Women’s Studies    

    Students can receive a minor in Women's Studies by earning at least 18 hours in courses approved for Women's Studies credit.  WS 2300 Introduction to Women's Studies is required, and at least 12 hours should be completed at the upper-division level and in more than one discipline.

    Students desiring to pursue a minor in Women’s Studies should fill out an application at the Office of the Dean of Liberal Arts in Liberal Arts, Room 343, and they should consult with the Women’s Studies Director to determine a course of study suitable to their interests and professional needs.    The Women’s Studies minor degree plan is available on this website.

Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies    

The Graduate Certificate allows degree-seeking and non-degree seeking students to specialize in women's and gender studies.  The certificate consists of a total of 12 hours of graduate courses from at least two different disciplines.  WS 5300 Interdisciplinary Feminist Theory and Methodology is the core class and should be taken as part of the 12 hours.  

    Admission to the Graduate Certificate Program is contingent upon admission into the Graduate School as a degree-seeking or non-degree seeking student.  Please review the application procedures on this website or contact the Women’s Studies Program for more information (915) 747-5200
