Spring 2009 ACES Team Picture

A truly unique work experience . . .

The Academic Centers for Engineers and Scientists began as one center on the first floor of the Classroom Building in the summer of 1997. A group of twelve undergraduate students were chosen as the management team, tasked with the day-to-day operations and decision making in the Center.

ACES has grown to four unique facilities that encompass a synergistic student support network unequaled on the UTEP campus. The staff continue operations with the mantra of its inception:

 ACES:
A student support facility run by students for students.

The ACES Team:

ACES is run by students for students. A student management team is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facilities and for special projects.

This team of highly skilled undergraduate students is led by the ACES Coordinator and ACES Team Leaders who comprise the Core Leadership Team.

The ACES team members participate in a rigorous training program to provide available resources and serve as peer educators to their fellow students.
