ISS provides faculty development services and training/development opportunities for university faculty and instructional staff in the form of workshops, seminars, consultations, and academies.

Collaboration

ISS builds relationships with faculty and departments at UTEP, not just through workshops and support services, but through interpersonal connections and collaborations.

Consultations

ISS provides individual consultations with faculty members and instructional staff on a wide range of topics, including:  online course design, online course management, student motivation and engagement, online assessment procedures, working with teaching assistants, syllabus and course design, etc.  In order to pair you with staff members who have expertise in your consultation area, we ask that you submit your consultation requests to iss@utep.edu.

Assessments

Developing and delivering courses can be challenging without the ability to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching strategies that have been employed in each course. The ISS staff assists faculty and departments with a wide variety of assessment options for courses designed in hybrid and online academies and instructional tools designed by the ISS staff.
