Dr. Sandra Garabano is a specialist in Latin American narrative and Argentine literature. She recently has published the book-length study Reescribiendo la nation: la narrativa de Ricardo Piglia. She also has articles on Matilde Sánchez, Pedro Lemebel and Diamela Eltit, in such journals as Chasqui and Hispamérica. Her current research deals with the relationships among literature, gender and modernization during the transition years from dictatorship to democracy in Chile. Dr. Garabano teaches courses on literary theory, the Argentine novel and nineteenth-century Latin American literature.
