Dr. García’s special interests are in Mexican and Latin American Literature. He has published various monographs and the book Fabulacion de la Fe: Carlos Fuentes. He also has published numerous articles on various Latin American and Chicano writers, among them Leopoldo Marechal, Carlos Fuentes, Aristeo Brito, Enriwue Zmacin Racon, in journals such as Explicación de Textos, Cuadernos Americanos Cuadernos Hispanoamericanas and La Palabra y el Hombre. For ten years, D. Garcia Nunez was in charge of the section on contemporary Mexico and prose for the Handbook of Latin American Studies, and he is presently a member of the board of directors for the Editorial Eón’s book series. He has received grants from the NEH and from the Andrew Mellon Foundation. Professor Garciaz is the co-editor and co-founder of the Revista de Literatura Mexicana Contemporánea, and the co-founder and co-diretor of the annual Congreso de Literatura Mexicana Contemporanea (http://www.utep.edu/rlmc/)
