Welcome New Graduate Students!

Dear Graduate Students:

Welcome to The University of Texas at El Paso! I am pleased you have chosen UTEP to continue your studies; I know that you will enjoy the depth of experiences graduate school and the academic life have to offer you. UTEP and the El Paso-Juárez community offer many opportunities to enrich your education and your lives. I encourage you to take advantage of them.

In addition, the Graduate School in collaboration with various offices on the UTEP campus offers a series of professional development workshops throughout the academic year. This virtual orientation and the on-campus orientation will provide you with further information about these programs.

This virtual orientation is designed to provide you with some basic information regarding this region, the University, and graduate education at UTEP. By providing this information on the web we hope to ease your transition to graduate school and make our orientation program more efficient and effective.

I look forward to meeting you at our on-campus orientation on August 22, 2008 for the Fall 2008 term; in the meantime, enjoy your virtual orientation to graduate school at UTEP.

Sincerely,
Patricia D. Witherspoon,  Ph.D.
Dean of the Graduate School
