POSITION: ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (STATISTICS)
DESCRIPTION:
The Departmentof Mathematical Sciences at The University of Texas at El Paso invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor level starting Sept. 2008. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience; research start-up funds are available. Qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics and excellent communication skills. Excellent teaching and an established research record are required for a senior level appointment. The department offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Statistics, an Actuarial Science concentration, a Professional Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, and a Ph.D. in Computational Sciences should be in place beginning Fall 2008. We are seeking someone who will develop an independent research program in statistics, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics, and participate in consulting and collaborative research through the Statistical Consulting Laboratory, www.academics.utep.edu/statlab.
