Employment Opportunities for Fall 2008 POSITION: ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (STATISTICS) DESCRIPTION:  The Departmentof Mathematical Sciences at The University of Texas at El Paso invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor level starting Sept. 2008.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience; research start-up funds are available. Qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics and excellent communication skills. Excellent teaching and an established research record are required for a senior level appointment. The department offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Statistics, an Actuarial Science concentration, a Professional Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, and a Ph.D. in Computational Sciences should be in place beginning Fall 2008.
