What is my Password?

 

Your password is based on your name:

 

1^st letter of your First-Name, 1^st letter of your Last-Name, 4 last digits of your ID, and the plus (+) symbol

Example:

Real Name:           John Doe

Student ID:           800159753

Miners Login:       jdoe

Password:            jd9753+

 

NOTE:

!!! Please ASAP change your password!!!

It must meet the same complexity as your assigned password.

Password Requirements: 

• Minimum size is 6 characters.
• It must have a mixture of lower or upper case letters.
• It must contain a number.
• It must contain at least one special symbol (!@#$%^&*)

 On Windows:  (Upon logon for the 1^st time you will be ask automatically) 

 

1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and select “Change Password”
2. Type your current password
3. Type your new password twice.
   

 

 

 

 On Linux: 

1. Upon logon, type “yppasswd”
2. You will be prompt for your current password.
3. Enter your new password twice.

   1. If you have a SAMBA account (viewing your Linux files on Windows)

      1.  At the prompt type “smbpasswd” 

      2. Enter your current password
      3.  Enter your new password twice (Recommended to use the same as your Linux account)
