The Center for History Teaching & Learning is an internationally-renowned and award-winning advocate for improving history education. During the recent debate over social studies standards in Texas, Education Week praised the Center's TEKSWatch website and information service and the Center received the Star Award for distinguished service at UTEP. Numerous media stories have described our outreach efforts.
Established in 2009, the Center seeks to advance the scholarship of teaching and learning in history and to apply that scholarship in our classrooms, in teacher education, and in the community. It is operated by the History Department at the University of Texas at El Paso and is located in room 334 of the Liberal Arts Building (building #8 on this map).
