    Photo of Dr. Hurtado
Dr. Jose Hurtado, Associate Professor of Geological Sciences, is part of a NASA team investigating the use of robots for geologic field work on the moon. The team will evaluate the effectiveness of using a robot to do reconnaissance work. Currently, a robot named K-10 is being tested at the Black Point Lava Flow near Flagstaff, Arizona. K-10 looks like a Mars Exploration Rovers and carries a set of cameras and other instruments used to image and explore an area.
