The Pathways Program introduces the geosciences to high school students and provides research opportunities for UTEP undergraduate students.

Pathways was started as a way to build a community of aspiring geoscientists in El Paso through an outreach efforts that enhance awareness of the geosciences among high school students and their teachers.  The centerpiece of the program is a two-week summer camp for high school juniors and seniors that lets students and teachers explore a variety of geosciences topics in geosciences and demonstrates how biology, chemistry, and physics integrate with the geosciences.  Pathways is sponsored by the National Science Foundation and UTEP Geology Department.
