    The Border Biomedical Research Center (BBRC) facilitates, supports and increases pathobiology research that addresses regional biomedical and health concerns at UTEP. BBRC’s six core facilities include:

    • Analytical Cytology Facility
    • Cell Culture and High Throughput Screening (HTS) Core Facility
    • Biomolecule Characterization Core Facility
    • DNA Analysis Core
    • Statistical Consulting Laboratory
    • Bioinformatics Computing Laboratory

    Indio Mountains Research Station (IMRS)

    IMRS is a 38,000 acre field station with visitor facilities in a relatively undisturbed area of the Chihuahuan Desert in southern Hudspeth County, about a three-hour drive from UTEP. The IMRS is used for instructional and research purposes the Departments of Biological Sciences, Geological Sciences and Sociology/ Anthropology. Formal classes in Field Biology are held at least twice a year at the IMRS, these involve on-site student research projects. Recent improvements to the visitor facilities have been funded by the National Science Foundation.

    CenMaster is dedicated to researching, developing and disseminating exemplary mathematics and science teaching and learning practices for all grade levels (K-20) by facilitating collaboration among faculty across the university committed to improving mathematics and science education and by serving as a resource for math and science educators and leaders in the El Paso region and beyond.
