Model Organization of American States (UTEP Chapter)

The Model Organization of American States is a student organization dedicated to promoting UTEP student participation in models—United Nations, Organization of American States, Arab League, and North Atlantic Treaty Organization, among others. The organization participates in the regional Model Organization of American States model sponsored by the World Affairs Council of San Antonio and St. Mary’s University every fall semester and sometimes at other models during the spring semester, depending on time and resources. Students train in diplomacy, negotiation skills, parliamentary procedures, debating skills, and international law and organizations, in addition to acquiring in-depth knowledge of the country they represent at the model and the subject matter of their committee.
