Department of Art Announces New Art History Major

The Department of Art is pleased to announce the launch of the art history major, starting in fall 2010. Stacy Schultz (PhD Rutgers University) and Anne Perry (MA University of New Mexico) have recently been joined by Max Grossman (PhD Columbia University), bringing to three the number of art historians on the department's faculty.

New Brazilian Studies at Liberal Arts

One of the distinguishing characteristics of The Brazilian Studies at UTEP is its interdisciplinary structure. The Brazilian Studies will offer a Brazilian certificate for those students interested in specializing in Brazil. Students will be able to work with distinguished faculty in different departments, and be part of a novel, interdisciplinary educational paradigm of Brazilian Studies in the United States.

UTEP in Indonesia

Twelve UTEP students and two UTEP faculty, Dr. Stacey Sowards and Dr. Richard Pineda, traveled to Indonesia during June and July this summer 2009, for a three week study abroad program, focusing on environmental and intercultural communication.
