Eduardo Barrera, Ph.D
Associate Professor Communication
Eduardo Barrera graduated from The University of Texas at Austin (1992) with the dissertation "Telecommunications, International Capital, The Peripheral State: The Case of Mexico.” His research is characterized by its binational character and includes topics such as international telecommunications policy, border culture, popular music, and international political communication. He has published in international journals such as the Journal of Communication, Diálogos de Comunicación, Frontera Norte, Media Development, Nóesis and Ciudades, among others. He has been Visiting Professor at Monterrey Tech (ITESM), UNAM, University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), and University of Monterrey (UDEM). He is a member of the board of the Red Nacional de Investigación Urbana and the Standing Conference of Management and Organizational Inquiry.
