Admission Application

Apply at ApplyTexas. This electronic application is used by all Texas public universities. Choose one of the following classifications when you apply:

International Freshman: A student who is or will soon be a high school graduate and has never attended college.

International Transfer: A student that has graduated high school and has college coursework from another university or college in the U.S or abroad.

Once submitted, print the confirmation page for your records.

Use your Miner Insider to check the status of your admission application. Your Miner Insider username and password will be emailed to you once we receive your application or you can sign up now and begin exploring features of your Miner Insider.

You can make a payment in person at Cashiers located at:

If you cannot make the payment by check you can pay online with card at the following link.https://secure.touchnet.net/C21711_ustores/web/index.jsp

Make sure that you have been given a student ID number before making any payments.

Make checks payable to The University of Texas at El Paso. Write your student ID number and/or full name and date of birth on your check or money order. Do not mail cash.

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts must be sent directly from the schools attended in the U.S. or abroad.

Copies or faxes are considered unofficial and will not satisfy this admission requirement.

Note: All transcripts in languages other than English or Spanish must be accompanied by a certified English translation.

4. Admissions Test ScoresRead More

Admissions Test Scores

All international students must submit entrance exam scores. Take one of the following exams and request your scores to be sent directly to UTEP from the testing center:

SAT: minimum score of 1070 (reading + math sections) with a score of 480 on the reading section
ACT: minimum composite score of 23 with a score of 19 on the English section
TOEFL: minimum score of 500 on UTEP’s institutional paper based exam or
a minimum score of 61 on the Internet Based TOEFL (IBT)
TOEFL Exemptions.
PAA: minimum score of 1000
Pearson Test of English (PTE): minimum score of 44

UTEP does not accept IELTS scores for admission.

Test results may take up to 5 weeks to receive. Use the following testing codes to submit official scores:

SAT: 6829 ■ ACT: 4223 ■ TOEFL: 6829

International applicants must complete the Confirmation of Financial Resources form to determine if you meet the required economic resource requirement.
