The Rubin Center is located on the campus of The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) right next to the Fox Fine Arts Building, less than a quarter mile away from the US-Mexico border. Since opening in 2004, the Rubin has hosted more than 75 original exhibitions of contemporary art by artists from around the world, including performances, commissions and site-specific installations that feature a wide variety of traditional and experimental practices. Their exhibitions are complemented with a dynamic schedule of public events that explore contemporary art and its place in the world. The Rubin reaches beyond the walls of UTEP through cross-border initiatives and multi-generational educational programming that serves area artists, high school arts programs, and families with children of all ages.

The Rubin Center also serves as a training ground for a new generation of bilingual and bicultural arts professionals through volunteer opportunities, on-site internships, artist-led workshops, and in partnership with UTEP’s Department of Art and Museum Studies Minor. The student employees at the Rubin Center are UTEP DoArt work-study students.

All Rubin Center exhibitions and events are free and open to the public. Please visit their website for more information at http://www.rubincenter.utep.edu
