Financial Aid Workshops

Need help filling out your application? Each Spring, high school campuses all around El Paso host workshops to help students complete their FAFSA application step-by-step. External Scholarships

These are given by  local, state and national organizations not including UTEP. To help you find these scholarships, the Office of Scholarships has created a bulletin board listing many scholarships offered by various organizations. Some are major specific while others are open to almost all students. To also help you in your search, a list of scholarship search engines have been compiled. Internal Scholarships

These arefunded specifically by UTEP and are open to all incoming high school graduates. Below you will find information on the scholarships available and some of their requirements. For more information click the link below.

Scholarships Available


President's Leadership Scholarship
Awarded to valedictorians and salutatorians.
Presidential Excellence Scholarship
Must demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities and achievements, and must meet two of these requirements:
  • High school GPA of at least 96.0
  • Rank Top 3% of graduating class
  • 1220 math and reading SAT or 27 on ACT
Presidential Scholarship
Must meet two of these requirements:
  • High school GPA of at least 96.0
  • Rank Top 3% of graduating class
  • 1220 math and reading SAT or 27 on ACT
 Academic Scholarship
Must meet these requirements
  • High school GPA of at least 93.0
  • Rank in Top 10%
  • 1120 math and reading SAT score or 24 on ACT

Student Business Services

Student Business Services play an important role in managing the University's financial resources. Some of their usual tasks include mailing financial aid check refunds (money that may be leftover from your financial aid after applying it to your tuition), setting up direct deposit for students, managing tuition payments and overseeing Pete's Payment Options (website used to manage your personal student account, make payments and see your bills).
