Hi – I’m a Biochemist/molecular biologist who has been working with parasitic protists for over 30 years, most recently focusing on the genome and metabolic pathways of Giardia lamblia. I have worked and taught microbiology, parasitology, and bioinformatics at UTEP since 1995, and I am also the Principle Investigator and Program Director for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Curriculum Grant as well as the MARC Quantitative Curriculum Grant here at UTEP. Currently I am also serving as Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Advancement in the College of Science.
