Welcome to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso! We are located in the beautiful, sunny, and warm city of El Paso, Texas. The picture above is a team of ECE students, mentored by Dr. Scott Starks, who participated in the NASA Design Challenge. You can read more about them and other exciting activities in the section labeled "In the News."

As you browse through this website, you will realize that we are a highly dynamic group of people that believe in access and excellence, which is helping us to diversify the future workforce of America. We believe that access to and excellence in Higher Education are compatible ideas and welcome students and faculty of all ethnic and social backgrounds. We offer a high quality B.S. program in Electrical Engineering, strong M.S. programs in Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering, and an excellent Ph.D. program. We are proud of our talented faculty and students, whose latest accomplishments are highlighted in the section below, entitled "In the News." Every year our research portfolio keeps growing and getting stronger! We are also proud to be a part of the College of Engineering, which is consistently ranked as the top producer of Hispanic engineers in the continental United States. Our highly qualified graduates are sought by many companies in the US and Latin America and are good, productive citizens of the world.

Enjoy your visit.
