Welcome from the Dean

Dr. Pablo Arenaz, Dean of the Graduate School

Welcome to the University of Texas at El Paso! I am Pablo Arenaz, Vice Provost and Graduate Dean, and I want to extend a warm welcome to you as you embark on your graduate career.

This is an exciting time for you, and I encourage you to take advantage of all that UTEP has to offer as you begin your studies. I hope that your time here will be both academically productive and personally rewarding.

To succeed in graduate school, the university assists by providing the environment and resources you will need to develop skills and knowledge in your chosen field. As a graduate student, you will have the opportunity to study in greater depth and detail.

In the graduate school office, we will do everything we can to help you as you register for classes, progress toward your degree, and finally walk across the stage at graduation.

There is ample opportunity for you to get involved in the campus community. Consider joining one of the many student organizations. That way, you can participate in important University-wide committees and be part of the decision-making process. You have a voice and we want to hear it!
