The Library provides access to a wide range of online resources, including: <a href="http://lib.utep.edu/"><em>Nugget, the UTEP Library Catalog</em></a>, over 300 subscription <a href="http://lib.utep.edu/search/y">electronic databases</a>, librarian-reviewed web sites, and thousands of <a href="http://fu5wr4ks6k.search.serialssolutions.com/">electronic journals (e-journals)</a>.
Access to Online Resources
Access to <em>Nugget</em> and most of the Library’s subscription online resources is available to anyone from computers in the Reference Department, the Collaborative Learning Center (CLC), and the Media & Microforms (M&M) Department; however, some subscription databases are restricted to current UTEP faculty, staff, and students only from on campus locations. Such products will require an additional login via the Library's <em>proxy server</em>. Users will be prompted to input their name (use last name only) and UTEP ID number.
Off campus (remote) access to <em>Nugget</em> along with databases and websites designated as “free” is available to anyone with an Internet connection. Remote access to most of the Library’s subscription electronic databases and e-journals is available to current UTEP faculty, staff, and students only via the following methods:
- The <a href="https://admin.utep.edu/Default.aspx?tabid=3509">Campus VPN</a> (<strong>NOTE:</strong> For broadband users only. Requires set-up via the <a href="mailto:email@example.com">Campus Help Desk</a>.)
- The Library’s <em>proxy server</em> (<strong>NOTE:</strong> Requires a valid Library <a href="http://libraryweb.utep.edu/about/departments/circulation/patronapp_form.php">patron record</a>. Once the Library patron record has been set up, authorized users may login to the Library's subscription electronic resources with their last name and UTEP ID number when prompted.)
