Become an MVC Member

UTEP students are invited to apply to become Miner Volunteer Corps Members. We want UTEP students who are reliable and “get it.” You “get it” if you know that when an organization is depending on you to show up, you not only show up but you do so with a smile, a great attitude, and a hard-working ethic.

Consider becoming an MVC member if you are:

  • Dependable
  • Enthusiastic
  • Energetic
  • Community-conscientious
  • Reliable
  • Hard-working


All UTEP students are eligible to apply as long as you have a minimum GPA of 2.0

Membership Requirements

You must apply to become a member

Once you apply, you will be notified of your status and be given a welcome packet (see MVC Application)

Once you have been accepted into the program, you will be required to meet the following criteria to remain an active member:

  • Volunteer for a minimum of 1 event per semester through MVC
  • Attend a minimum of 1 MVC event per semester
  • Behave in a manner consistent with UTEP's high standards of professionalism and accountability
  • Maintain UTEP student status in good standing

Event Volunteering

Members will be notified via text, email, and Facebook about upcoming volunteering opportunities. Students will be asked to register for each event and slots will be granted on a first-come-first-served basis.

Members will also have access to upcoming events via the “Upcoming Events” tab available on the right side of this webpage.

Only events made available through the MVC program count towards membership requirements.

Apply to become an MVC Member

You must complete the Miner Volunteer Corps Application and submit it to the CCE in person or via e-mail at any time.

The application packet contains the following:

  • Application Form
  • Release and Indemnification form
  • Media Release Waiver

Once the CCE receives your application, you will receive an e-mail notification within 2-3 work-days regarding your acceptance. Should you be accepted as a member, the CCE will then invite you to pick-up a welcome packet, including your membership card, at our office.
