The University of Texas at El Paso National Security Studies Institute National Security Studies Institute

U.S. military veterans and active duty servicemembers make up a significant portion of the National Security Studies Institute’s student demographic.   Veterans and active duty servicemembers add a valuable and constructive component to classroom dynamics and to the NSSI program as a whole. Whether you are an active duty servicemember or a veteran, the National Security Studies Institute has several options to help you with your current and future career goals.

The Military Student Success Center (MSSC) at The University of Texas at El Paso is the designated starting point for those prospective students wishing to pursue a college degree.  UTEP supports both the Post 9-11 Bill and the Yellow Ribbon Program.  The Post 9-11 GI Bill provides tuition assistance to those who served at least 90 days of active duty service after September 11, 2001. The Yellow Ribbon Program augments the benefits provided by the Post 9-11 GI Bill; however, it is only available to those who are eligible for 100% benefits from the Post 9-11 GI Bill.

If you believe that you qualify for Veterans Affairs benefits and the Post 9-11 GI Bill, you should contact the MSSC directly.  Any questions regarding benefits through the Post 9-11 GI Bill or the Yellow Ribbon Program, should be directed to or (915)-747-5342.
